Edutainment
As a small child, I once watched a knee replacement that was airing on The Discovery Channel in its entirety. As a medium-sized child, I chilled out a bit and became a fan of Bill Nye and The Magic School Bus. I came to believe education should be thrilling and deeply affecting—and it ought to be funny too. You know… like a surgical procedure.
In 2022, I began contributing research to Wisecrack, a YouTube channel that puts a philosophical spin on pop culture. We have covered recent trends in internet culture like AI girlfriends, TikTok trad wives, and self-help Stoicism. We have also created videos that communicate academic perspectives on current events like the new space race and the student debt crisis.
As a first-generation college student, I am proud to have contributed to Crash Course: How to College. I wrote scripts on choosing a major, transferring schools, and managing loan payments. See below for links to all of my work.
Comedy
I’ve been writing political satire since 2019. For McSweeney’s, I wrote perhaps the only Ghostbusters themed argument for Medicare-for-All. And for The American Bystander, I wrote fundraising emails from the Democrat running against Pontius Pilate.
Recently, I have collaborated with cartoonists to produce political comics for Current Affairs magazine, such as “Not All Canadian Geese” and “Safety Instructions for Your Voyage on SpaceX MoonShip-42069, Based-LMAO Model.”
As a recovering tech bro, I also enjoy making fun of startup culture—so for Slackjaw, I wrote ”I Am A Silicon Valley CEO And I Need A Solution To The Trolley Problem By EOD.” If you would like to see more, click the link below.
